Professional career

Conrad landed an internship at Teen Vogue while filming season one of The Hills. According to Lisa Love, the West Coast editor of Vogue who evaluated Conrad for the internship position, Conrad had to interview successfully in order to get the job, “regardless of what the cameras wanted.”

Conrad and her reality show appearances have been credited with improving sales of Teen Vogue. It was reported in March 2007 that, since the second season of The Hills began airing in mid-January, newsstand sales for the magazine increased by double digits over 2006 sales. A Little More Personal (2005)

In December 2005, her second album, A Little More Personal (Raw), debuted at number 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, but fell under the top 100 within six weeks. Reviews were unfavorable; critics called the album a “slick pop production.” Slant magazine called it “contrived … for all the so-called weighty subject matter, there’s not much meat on these bones.” Still, A Little More Personal (Raw) was certified Gold on 18 January 2006. The music video for the album’s first single, “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)” — directed by Lohan and featuring the acting debut of her sister, Ali — was a dramatization of the pain Lohan says her family has suffered at the hands of her father. 2008 parody Presidential campaign

On August 6, 2008, Paris appeared in a 1 minute 50 second long video, “Paris Hilton Responds to McCain Ad”, directed by Adam McKay and posted on the Funny or Die website.

The video featured Paris in a parody advertisement, and was made in response to a television campaign advert “Celeb”, broadcast in 11 US states by the 2008 John McCain presidential campaign. In Celeb, McCain briefly compared his rival Barack Obama to that of celebrities such as Paris and Britney Spears, and goes on to question his readiness to lead and criticise his energy policy. Career

On August 14, 2004, Gercke won a casting for fast food chain Burger King. She was represented by Langer-Pueschel who booked her for photoshoots, catwalk shows, and dance. At the beginning of 2006, she attended a casting for Germany’s Next Topmodel hosted by Heidi Klum. After winning, she received an advertising contract with the fashion label OuiSet, a modelling contract with IMG Models in Paris, the cover shoot for the June 2006 issue of German Cosmopolitan and an advertising contract with Microsoft for Windows Live. Soon she will be the host of Austria’s Next Topmodel.

Biography

Her father was a mason and her mother, a teacher. She became a model after being spotted at the age of 16 during a national talent search.

She has also modeled for Victoria’s Secret, and for many other companies in the women’s clothing market.
