Rihanna cites Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Fefe Dobson, Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Celine Dion, Brandy, and Gwen Stefani as musical influences.

In a interview, Rihanna stated, that while growing up in Barbados, she grew up listening to reggae music and when she came to the U.S. she was exposed many different types of music.

Rihanna also stated that Mariah Carey has been one of major influences, whose classic song, “Vision of Love” made an impact on her.
